Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program

The Federal Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988 requires that the recipient of a grant from a federal agency certify to that granting agency that the grantee will provide a drug- free work place. In addition, the grantee must publish a statement notifying employees that the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, and possession is a violation of such prohibition.

Failure to comply with this act may result in suspension, termination or debarment from the award of any federal contract.

Policy Statement

Edmonds College is in compliance with the Federal Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988 and the Federal Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Community Act of 1989. Please see College Policy HR2.0 and College Procedure HR2.0P for a full description of Edmonds College’s rules and responsibilities of employees and students. The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance is prohibited.
